Our story
Built slowly, around the trees.
Morning Tree Resort began as a family plot of land along the Praek Tuek Chhu river, planted with old mango, tamarind and coconut trees. We didn't want to clear it — we wanted to build a place that lived among them.
The bungalows went up one at a time, made from local wood by craftsmen from nearby villages. Everything is arranged so the trees are still the tallest thing on the property.
Today we run the resort as a small team, most of us from Kampot. We cook with produce from farms around Kep, and take our guests to the same pepper growers, boat captains and mountain guides we've known for years.
